AuthorTopic: Help me to identify this FX!

I saw a long time ago an effect that looked like a mixer.
But each "track" was a specific frequency.
So you could for example route a guitar through it,
pan different frequencies different and so on....

I think it was an VST/DX Fx but canīt remember enough to find it.

Any ideas what Iīm talking about?

You mean like a frequency splitter?

Don't remember what's the plugin you are after but If ya feel adventurous, grab a copy of Audiomulch or energy XT vst or similar and use the free MDA splitter plugin. You can easily built what are after using has many frequency splitters and then sending'em to panning modules. It works.

Sounds like a TobyBear efffect, possibly

This is a band split fx. Its a simple organ pad with the hi going thru a phaser, mid thru a gate, and lo thru a variable filter(creating a warble). The effect is slowly brought in as the track goes on. Wink

I imagine there's a few that do similar things. From your description it could be Stancer or StereoFaker (can't remember which).

ConcreteFX made a free sample player that sliced up the frequencies, but it doesn't sound quite like you're describing. I'd be willing to bet, though, that Jon would be willing to make one...

BTW, he has recently made an effect called StereoBand that might be more along the lines of what you're looking for... http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25987

So, did ddummer ever say whether he found the plugin he was trying to remember?

At least I was reminded to pull out StereoFaker again after this thread: have been using it on a few projects since! Smile
