I'm just getting to started exploring my effects. I'm using p5 which comes with a good amount. Lots came with sonic foundry & acid too that came stock with my laptop. My questions is what are some statndard basic uses for effects. For example I know reverb and compression are used lots but on everything or just drums or bass etc. I know this very opinion oriented but opinions on basic stuff always helps.

I'm originally a gutar player so I'm familiar with delay, distortion, reverb etc.. but what to apply to basss sounds or drums (i guess "foundation" sounds) is still a little unfamiliar to me!
