EnergyXt has a good one. Theres also TobyBears Chorder at TobyBear.de. And theres one that comes with Cubase SX. Those are the only ones I know about.

Well, I'm not the einstein-of-chords so if anyone have in mind some cool additions they want to see in XT's chord comp, I'm all ears.

how about guitar chord emulation? ie. simulated strumming. each midi note triggers a chord of your specifications, strummed low to high in one octave and high to low in another (so you can strum up and down by playing the same note a few octaves apart). Velocity of each note is lower towards the end of the strum - and maybe some sort of randomization thingie so each strum is slightly different.

This would rock. The only alternative currently is rhythm and chords from musiclab. which is dxi only, and overkill for my needs (I need no prefab rhythms or chord charts etc etc.)

Just an idea Jorgen Smile

$60 Pawn shop guitar and about a month of lessons and you can get some pretty good results. (And, the ladies love guitarists way more than keyboardist.)

Thanks for that Rolling Eyes

I already own a guitar and know how to play, but I don't have the hardware to properly record it digitally. Not to mention I have some samples that sound better than my cheap guitar, if I could make proper use of them.

I think a way to edit the chords by key and octave like the one in SX would be cool. That way you could assign different chords to each key in a octave and the other octaves would play those chords as well. Smile

A bit OTS, but Fractal Tune Smithy now has chording features. I haven't been able to test it yet, though.

AD80, yep. New version coming soon. Working night and day. Below is a screenshot of the alpha version. I will start beta-ing it in october...and it will be a linear/pattern sequencer with awesome automation and lots of composing candy...

What sequencer do you use? In Tracktion, just make it the first filter in a track before another instrument filter. Then have a midi track with the root notes that you desire. Its a snap!
