AuthorTopic: freeware multiband compressor MacOS9/PC

Deep somewhere within in the "thread that wouldn't die" was a link to this multiband compressor, 'C3MultiBandComp' with MacOS9 and PC versions.

Far as I know this is the first freeware multiband compressor available for Mac ?
(i'm sure you PC guys have hundreds already, but us Mac kids have to scrape for freeware Smile )

Anyway, been tweaking and it's not bad (not that i've used multiband compressors much), so have a look if you missed the thread, There's some PC-only stuff there too. : (click image)

thanks for the link

great to have another free multibandcompressor (even the pcpeople are not blessed with them Smile , the only one i know is the mda-one)

just played around with some basses and appreggiolines : the "bright"-preset could add real punchiness...

I just tried the Stereo Compressor and WOW!!!
It is even able to produce breathing and pumping!!!
It has really a fine sound... not neccessarily good for every situation
but for freeware stuff it's really a gem

I like the adjustable crossovers... It can be configured as a regular three-band compressor, or three full-band compressors in parallel, or a two-band compressor mixed with original signal, or a low bass compressor and a subtle high boost combined with gentle full-band compression, or, or, or, the possibilities are awesome!

The only regret i can under line is that there aren't patches yet to start with, i mean these types of muticomp are still a bit complex for me (even though i don't describe myself as an absolute beginner !) to handle correctly

You'd need to take time ( and experiments some mistakes !)

Help Help

You're on PC ?

I'm using the multiband compressor in FLstudio and it sounds fine but I don't get any effect shown in the reduction LEDs, even if I turn the threshold right down and the ratio right up.....

It's not a problem as the native fruity compressor doesn't have any display at all, but I much prefer to use a plug which shows me visually what it's doing
