AuthorTopic: looking for a delay plugin .............

.......that has the most options on mangling the decaying echo sound. I currently use ohmboys delay effect for dublike resonating sounds/delays etc. But I wonder if there are more plugins in this category with even more possibilities. Like echo's that decrease/increse in bitrate , or lets you program the panning and/or the effects in a stepsequencer mannor.

thnx

(btw i've tried karlette , ni spectral delay <- which reeks of freshness Smile + all the freeware stuff out there.maybe I missed one?)

You already named my two favorites.OhmBoyz and Spektral Delay.
Another one worth checking out is ConcreteFX's QDelay. It's got a lot of fun mangling options.

More Feedback Machine? That's got a good amount of mangling.

I'll agree with Ohmboys, and also mention iZotope Trash which has a very cool delay built in Smile

Sounds like you want nusoft morphing dealy. But really you could do it in Synth edit or reaktor.

Ok I made one in SE that is pretty good I have to admit. (All the following is in the delay path) The delay can expand or narrow the stereo field, filter and ring mod. It has a pre-delay, full stereo, speration on predelay and delay, limiter with a little soft distortion and more than 100% feedback. Can sync to host or ms. Midi learn. Seperate sync or mil sec for both predelay and delay. Patch change.
Now the bad part:
Still basic shi**y blue GUI. No tips on knobs yet. No LFO's Yet. No help provided yet. No presets yet.

Anyone want to host it/test it/make a GUI, presets, etc. Question

Hey, I'll host it and test it but don't expect any brilliant presets or a GUI.

In Buzz there are at least one delay that lets you patch any effects into the feedback loop, but i don't know of any VST's that do this. Should be possible with some modular system though, like Reaktor or SynthEdit.

hmm that's cool ... especially interesting cos I'm an ex-Buzz-user Smile

I've also been wondering whether there are any VST delay plugs with an envelope and/or LFO to control the filter, mix and feedback?

something like this would be really good ...

I use MetalMickey a lot but not for "echo" but mainly for weird sounds.

Wooot! Buzz rox. The delay you want in buzz is the Unwieldy Delay III (and an aux send). There are others (like just an aux bus/send and a plain jeskola delay for instance), but that's the quickest.
I still use buzz ANYTIME I need a quantized beat. Pluse I can't get past not having some of those effects that I know so well. They hardly use any CPU either. And the latest VST loader kills anythign else out there. Now that Live syncs via rewire I'm thinking of buying Live and using Buzz/Live more than Trackion. Only Sometimes I need a piano roll Sad .

cheers for the replies! some names that I haven't heard off yet..cool stuff. I have the kt-granulator plugin,.but haven't really been using it as a delaymachine.(maybe cause I'm lazy + theres no syncing to host(?).will spend some quality time with it. Smile oh,. I remember ..I think after rendering kt-granulator in wavelab ,the sample is affected with a small silence at the start of a loop. Thats always a turn off,.is there a way to correct this?

cheers
