To all those guys that say SE plugins should not be sold, and that guys charging small fees for there SE creations are wrong.
balance this out, a small fee of maybe 10-25 $ for sometimes 2 dozen plugins with full credit to Synthedit and the sdk module makers gets slagged off get yer kakers round this http://www.webdesignshop.net/sounddesignersbiz/mittygate_vstplugin.htm I have slight feeling this thread may get long enter the gladiators. a bargain price of did they put the 4 in there by mistake $:583.423 Eur:507.784 £:349.00

a) if it has such a price tag, it must be good.
b) for if it wouldn't have such a price tag, it wouldn't be that good, would it? c) how else would it convince a customer that it is so good if it hasn't such a price tag. .imo, this is protools quality range software. .honest. (but, a bit pricey for me at the moment

Their 'sister' site www.halion.co.uk is registered to a Peter Buick of London. Anyone recognise him from the SynthEdit list?
(As for the eprson who asked "How do you know they're SynthEdit-made... the knobs and sliders. They've used the defaukt knobs that ship with SE, not even their own custom versions) God those are some fuckin ugly UI's. Guess those big-buck price tags are especially imrepssive since they decided to concentrate on the code, and skip the extra cost of a graphic artist...

I am sorry you are going to have to try harder to con me out of my hard earned cash.
Although the spectral sock does look impressive with its one button solution for making your mixes cleaner Spectal Sock, Tea Ladder, Coffee Ladder - pick an effect an add a random word to it Piss Poor Delay, Shite Reverb, Anal Filter, Crap Chorus - this is fun - now where is my copy of Synth Edit.

cheers...i wonder if theres any more out there (with more professional guis) that have fooled and are still fooling everyone???..or would the educated person notice...im only asking because ive never heard a SE creation..or maybe i have

or a web designer ... check the white-on-grey text on the page for their bargain basement Coffee Ladder, a steal at only 299 ..... btw "Mittygate" is only their mid-price module, the prize for the most expensive SE creation ever goes to the flagship model Purple Compressor at 399 You think at that price it'd be ... ummm ... purple rather than pink? ![]()

Hi,
i am serious about their purple compressor just to compare it to the hardware they mentioned, did any buy or hear this thing yet? And about Synthedit, you can make your own code and modules in Synthedit as far as i know. So maybe this guy is just a DSP-Guru and a bad graphic designer who uses synthedit to make the GUI, but uses his own coded modules. Any experiences?
| baggio | Posted: 11th November 2003 08:38 | |||||||
Xarc I think you might have to wait a long time before anybody on this forum buys one of these products.
| mauseoleum | Posted: 11th November 2003 08:42 | |||||||
:: anybody know of some cute little blonde so I can finalize her with my purple kompressor ??
| ||||||||
| AntiPro | Posted: 11th November 2003 08:50 | |||||||
This guy is pathetic. The GUI's are dead ugly (and indeed about 80% standard SE gfx). The effects are not bad, but not that special either. The only thing that really stands out is the price Also where the hell to download the demo versions? All links seem to be disabled or something. Who would ever buy a plugin of 300$ without trying it out?!
| shamann | Posted: 11th November 2003 08:55 | |||||||
The only Peter I can remember was the guy who had quite a row with Chris Kerry over commercial modules and some go at Tom from EFM. I think he left the group in a huff. I only peripherally checked the group then, so I don't know if it's the same guy. Cheers, Steve. PS have a look at www.peterbuick.com for more of the same.

im messing about with a phrase delay thingy right now infact thats how I found those pages searching for phrase delays. it's bacially gonna be 4 or 8 or 16 stereo delays with hold > ck big delay so upto 80sec as you know switching between all the delays is fun and can result in some pretty wacky grooves testures etc. hey, an idea, do the skin, we will selll it for $500 then we can goto brazil for xmas. I,ll let ya know when it's ready. ps, do you know anything like this out there ?

| whyterabbyt | Posted: 11th November 2003 12:34 | |||||||
Well it looks like the developer, Mr Buick, is a little confused. He's not sure if he's a "freelance animating storyteller, music composer and technical author" or a "freelance journalist, consultant and musician/composer".
Doesnt seem to be much evidence of skill in any of these things at his website. But he will sell you anti-spam software (lotta spammers do that, funnily enough) PC case badges (!) 'herbal aids' and is promsing "A revolution in granular synthesis for the Windows PC platform !" Love his other list of other websites. Sure doesnt sound like some kind of dodgy operator to me, oh no...
Hark at those classy graphics in 'WhatsInMyArea.com' and send him an email right now. Check out his training courses in
at 'KipUnivorsity' (sic) or perhaps you'd rather do one of these:
(I definitely want to do the 'Internet Publishing' one) Or maybe you'd just like to get involved with his own online alternative to PayPal:
Check out www.bltgroup.com for ' Leaders in Entertainment, Training and Ecommerce.' Oh yeah. Classy site, that. Or find out if you really want to breach the copyright notice by repeating the valuable content at at http://www.stressrelax.co.uk/ Looks like a genuine scam-free 100% honest operator to me. I'd trust him with my credit card details and no mistake...
