I have a cheesy clock radio with two 2" speakers, that sounds like the cheap radio it is. But it has a button on it called "Ambience" that really makes it sound BIG? I read somewhere that they do this by subtracting the left stereo channel out of phase from the right channel and then the same process on the left channel and added the results. I believe that this leaves you only the difference between the channels added back to each respective side. It's actually pretty impressive.
Ok,what I wanted to know is anyone is aware of a plugin that works this way? Thanks MRT

well I'm a bit knackered so maybe I didn't quite get it but...
doesn't a chorus/detune effect work similarly? If that doesn't do the trick you might want to apply what you just described manually to an audio file.. Right ,off to bed, Marco

download synthedit - www.synthedit.com
insert>modifiers>inverter insert>modifiers>inverter [ctrl]-a, [alt]-e, b (select all, box selection) right click on the box, and select 'view structure.' connect the ins to the inverters and the inverters to the outs. if you want to get fancy, add some level adjusters and a slider for the amount of signal to invert/subtract. file>export-as-vst, make sure you insert a patch select module so that your host will remember settings when you reopen songs. 5 bleedin' minutes. do yerself a favour, take 10 minutes to d/l se, then 1/2 hour to read the manual. eh yuuussssssss

you can also start experimenting with mda's free Stereo plugin or Voxengo's Stereo Touch

Wanted to post and update, based on xoxos's suggestion I've downloaded Synthedit and have started a project. I've had some pretty strange results up this point, but I have audio going in and coming out so I guess that's progress.
