where to begin?

i was spoiled by my old sequencer, which a had drop-in midi fx pipeline that could destructively or nondestructively force midi notes to scale, generate delays, algorithmically limit or generate any CC data and a lot of really whacked out stuff, facilitating some seriously complex, almost aleatoric midi processing... there's really been nothing else like it since i left, but now that i'm using more vst stuff, i've found more references to vst midi effects. i've done a few searches on the site, but haven't had much luck in finding any. who makes some interesting fx that i can try in tracktion and logic and buy?

thanks!

Check out Toby Bears great array of stuff (His 'area' is at the bottom of topics here)! His MIDI BAG, and SOURCE BAG downloads are packed with really interesting effects that can do wild MIDI things. Very Happy

hey, thanks. these are interesting. not too keen on the interfaces, but it's a start. are there any other developers i should look for?

thanks!

incidentally, this is what my old sequencer looks like.

you can process midi data in parallel and in series, with very fine control over what goes where. a list of the filters can be found here. if i can get enough vst plugins like these to use in tracktion (which is most like my old sequencer), i'll be a very happy studio rat.

Possibly SmartElectronix? They have such a group doing so many things. But I think it's more audio mangling devices like your great plugs. Wink But have a look amongst their developers, there might be a few MIDI trickers in there?

After spending 15 years doing 'live MIDI tricks' between my gear, I try to stay away from it myself now. Wink
