look to the left under the site header, there's a very thourough search engine that will give you several parameters to filter your search to free, shareware, commercial vs platform, etc.

There's too many good free plugs for us to list man, these inquiries usually drive pppl crazy, hence the flames. Best thing to do is check em out yourself, as there is something like 300 free plugs in the last search I did.

happy hunting

Aye, then check out the reviews too - they can be handy to give you a bit more info on what the FX are capable of.

A brief list of essential freebies would be

e-phonic RetroDelay
Greenoak Delayifier
dB TempoDelay
SIR for reverbs (echchamber and Noisevault for impulses)
Ambience reverb
Freeverb Too
Bass Chorus
Endorphin
Blockfish
Floorfish
C3
TripleC
T-Sledge
RubyTube
Nastyshaper
Supaphaser
NyquistEq
ParisEq

And that's just scratching the surface - go search. Wink

I am not the least bit put out by the idea of sharing the knowledge I have gathered here.

Anyway; I will list some things that I have found very worth the download.

Blockfish - channel compressor
http://www.digitalfishphones.com/main.php?item=2&subItem=5

e-phonic LoFi - multifunction sound mutilation
http://www.e-phonic.com/vstplugins/lofi.html

The free Classic Series - chorus, compressor, master limiter, phaser, etc.
http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/

Ohm Force FrOHMage - wicked filter
http://www.ohmforce.com/ - it's somewhere there, I think...

Simulanalogue - Guitar Suite; These are a small colection of some of the very best sounding amp-sim's available, much much better than any comercial unit I have heard, and closer even than most hardware virtuals
http://www.simulanalog.org/GSuite.zip

e-phonic Retro Delay - Delay based multi-effector, think "space echo" with extras
http://e-phonic.com/vstplugins/retrodelay.html

I have listed enough to fill all the basics, and with these you can do a lot of cool extra stuff too. There are so many available out there that you can easily start losing track, so I recomend trying the few that get suggested here and really run them through the paces before going and DL'ing all the stuff out there. I have not listed any SynthEdit compiled ones here, because so many people have displayed a bias against them that I don't bother a lot of the time; If you want to find the Really Creative and outstanding free stuff, though, you should definately check out the SynthEdit community. Some stuff out there is just mindblowingly good, for IDM styles, and more.
Cheerx.
I hope you enjoy these.

You did see the very first topic "sticky" that lists many many free effects. I found most of those listed, now just need to check them out.
