AuthorTopic: Favourite Reaktor effects for drum processing

Hiya all,

I just hoping for some recommendations for Reaktor effects that are great for pushing drum loops through - distorting, mangling, other-worldliness, whatever.

I've had a ball using Vierring set to processing the input, and I'm hoping for a bit more fun. (FYI I tried first posting this in NI's Reaktor forum but I couldn't log in).

Bye,
Steve

orange grains is a fav for outright insane mangling.

I also like using banaan electrique for more traditional fx since it has so many good FX built into it.

God, there's so many I can't think of em all..there's one called bandelay that has 16 delay bands that make some very interesting loops.

Laserbrew is great as an alternative verb.

too many..I love Reaktor..

doesn't vierring just go off and free run on you as effect or synth?

am I setting something up wrong or the victim of some weird host interaction? vierring for me is one of the free running Reaktor beat generators. Once it starts there's no stopping it from the host till the song is done.

i just used Laserbrew preset 'weird room' last night on a drum track. wet/dry mix at about 80%. Laserbrew was especially effective at mixing reverbed beats on top of soft velocity ghost flams

check the ensemble's settings & make sure 'sync to host' is enabled.

black dirt. it's a little unweildy, but mixing down output of it and then tossing into a sampler does wonders

I just downloaded a new user ensemble called 'autoVerb2' a few days ago that does wonders with verb & panning on cymbals & stuffs, it's a new favorite for me.

Good for just about everything, though, except for maybe kick.

Hi again,

This is all great stuff. Thanks very much! Yes, Reaktor is indeed the dog's proverbial. And thanks for the link to Kaotica.

Bye,
Steve
