Can u guys recommend a good 32-bit or 64-bit Gate plugin, if possible, as a separate device, not with eq or other stuff.
Thx Tom | ||

Sonalksis is supposed to be coming out with an analog style gate plugin any time now. Try digitalfishphones gate plug.

I can make you a 256bit gate plugin for $2500.. interested?

Sonalksis? Don't think so, atleast not for a while. It seems that their latest plugin is a kind of multiband comp which they are marketing as a some sort of unique EQ.

unique == third to market
256bits? I'll do 1024. Floating point.

at the price of bit-crafting these days, I dare you to make it 1024bits under $2500 ..unless you get your bits done in some chinese sweat-shop, but that would be unfair

In all fairness, bit depth would be more important on a plug-in of this type. Especially considering that gates expand dynamics. I'd also bet that the difference between a 16-bit and a 32-bit float implementation would be audible.

Well, it's a global market these days, and you've got to stay competetive. I've always thought that Taiwanese bits were of superior quality, but if you want it quickly, go to the Koreans.
Of course, I could do the job by hand, but that would cost more and take longer. But you get what you pay for...

Thanx for the answers.
Now I have remembered I have one - VST Dynamics, which is good enough T

We have a winner! But you should definitely look at the digital phish fones one. It's pretty cool.

OKAY, fish phones, but is it any better than VST dynamics?

Yeah Floorfish is awesome. It even comes with spare bits in case you lose one.

Well, take a look at the screen shot and tell me if Cubase has half that number of features. |
