Hi, is there a "filterlike" plugin that remove multiple frequencies done by a LoFi effect (Bitdepth/Samplerate).
something like that? well when using Lofi effects or just a LoFi Sampler there is always this Ringing Sound - it´s like a ringmodulator. I know that these sound is the reason why Lofi is cool somehow, but sometimes it is neccesarry to remove some of those ringing tones - or just put them a little in the background. So such a superdupa EQ/Filter whatever would be AWESOME | |

Have you tried a parametric EQ with a very narrow filter band? This should do what you want. I don't think that you need any special filters, a good EQ should be all you need.

Any regular lowpass filter should be fine. Don't worry about preserving those high frequencies after they've been aliased - it's all garbage up there.

Filtering everything with a cutoff is NO solution, of course Well a parametric EQ is goo for that BUT look at the spectogramm of a "LoFi" Sound. You will see that frequncies are in a harmonic relationship to each other. For example take a sinewave at 50 hz and apply some Lofi effect by reducing the Samplerate. You will see that those added Frequncies are harmonic somehow. SO a parametric EQ Device or Plugin is mostly limited to just a few EQ´s. To remove all harmonic Lofi Frequencies you would need about 30 parametric EQ´s or something. Well i guess there is no such thing, right? There are outboard EQ´s that have about 30 FIXED filterbands, BUT they are FIXED ! What is needed is a EQ device that have one Parametric Band ( the first ) , and the other "harmonic" Bands should follow the basic band! got it? maybe also a hint to Developers here? |
