Just downloaded this plugin, haven't used it yet (but I guess my expectation of buzzroom plugs tends to be rather high, I love their little roomverb). But on to my question.
What does BuzVintageMaxi do that makes it a "vintage maximizer", what kind of process are we talking about here? With a number of plugins I see the word vintage (or at least using the term in conjunction with the product) and often there's a variety of reasons: *The algorithm is based on/inspired in some kind of tone generated by some old piece of kit (tenuously <--> very much like something real) *There's some kind of psuedo analog processing method going on *I've included some kind of 'tube' emulation at the end of the processing channel *Digital distortion/warping/mangling given another name *The word vintage makes things sound cool *It's all in the interface man! Don't get me wrong, it's probably going to be a wonderful plug (or even is now, I'm just too tired to try it), but sometimes I'd like an idea of what a product is supposed to be doing (and in the case of a beta I think users can help a bit more if they have an idea if something isn't quite right). If anyone knows I wouldn't mind hearing a rant or three Spratman | |
