Presuming you're on Windozz
http://www.kvr-vst.com/get.php?mode=results&st=adv&soft=e&type%5B%5D=7 3&f=0&fe=0&win=1&free=1&com=1&sf=0&sort=1&rpp=15 I'd peronally recommend lo-fiplus or E-phonic's Lo-Fi There's also great plug called +decimate, try a Google search for this, it's both win and mac

Not strictly just bitchrushing (but it does that too), but for general distortion check out delta force.. Click my sig to get it for free Paul

Ahh...I see you enjoy bitch-rushing too.

sadly, i've found digidesign's Lo-Fi and D-Fi plugins to be about the best bitcrushers i've ever used/heard. damn them.

Ooohh dear. Can you give me more info about that, and i can try to resolve you problem.. And did you get the installer version? If you grabbed the "Dll only" version, try copying Mscvr71.dll to you windows\system32 folder.. Paul

If using .WAV hits and such, I love Computer Music's SR-202 bit crushing abilities. Heck, I stream anything down to mono just to cram it into the SR-202. Well, it USED to be.

well, there is bitcrusher in CubaseSX, I'm not sure if you are using
cubase or not.( I think there is one in logic,too) and there is bitcrusher in PSP's nitro too. recently I use this alot..really alot. it sounds better than (if bitcrushing can make sound better) bitcrusher in Cubase. I know PSP's nitro is not free but it is really worth the money.

daniel [ddummer] developed a very good one called sample reducer, actually the best one imo, because the downsampling is sweepable whithout noticable steps/artifacts, and there are 5 types/characters in it ... sad to say that now, that his site is down i don`t have a clou where to get it ...

I alternate between TobyBear Decimator, SoundHack +decimate, VCS Elite Reducer and Sample Reducer. They've all got different sounds Will have to try the CMT Bitcrusher, thanks

thanks guys, i'm still checking them all out, and it's gonna take time. Also, about nitro, it surely looks stunning, although i guess it's a bit heavy on the cpu isn't it?

Is this a comment about delta force? If so ill pass it on to chris our graphic designer.. (if not, dont worry!).. Ps - im just updating delta force as i write this.. Hopefully a new release will be available soon - its now got 27 (and counting) different distortion types... Paul
| foosnark | Posted: 9th November 2004 10:34 | |||||
Actually I found the overdrive on the CMT one to be tricky to deal with as it doesn't have a post gain control
