How the heck would I make something loop like this without the feedback going crazy? I dont mean the pitch bend, thats simple, but whats a great freeware delay/echo or whatnot vst that can do this?

That is just a delay effect where the sound is feeding back on itself. Download MDA's Dubdelay (or another good analog style delay) and set the feedback and mix settings to 100% play with the delay time as this is going on and just let the sound go on it's own. Instant Nigel Godrich.

ok i checked that out, but it doesnt do that "filtery" fade out kind of sound... Should I do that with an automated filter or what? Do you know what I mean?
or maybe i should just make something a loop and do that?

Klanglabs Deelay has extremely long feedback jobbies, that should do the trick and it's free (and very very good IMHO)

Maybe you should remove your head from your anal cavity. That might help reduce the echoing.

That effect was done with an AMS delay, which is a pretty oldschool analog delay. Try using any kind of lofi plugin in the feedback path or after the delay to reduce the bits/samplerate.

Yup a bitcrusher or samplerate converter in the end of the chain might help muck things up (you can clearly hear some of this on the CD if you have good speakers), but what you're hearing at the end that I think you're mistaking for a filter is just the delay speed being decreased which is in turn pitching down the sound.

I can't recall the bit in the Radiohead song, but based on the description from other's, ephonic's Retrodelay might do it. If you're looking to spend money, OhmBoyz would be what you're after. It even has a quick repeated loop capture button to make the process easy.

How would I plug that in to the "feedback path"? Should I run up a rack in tracktion?

THanks

also what bitcrushers / lofi effects are recommended?
