mucked around with some more attempts at this and atm best results are with a dh_granulator module.. use the same slider to set grain size and grain rate to 2ms ~ 20ms and set the 'shift' with the pitch.. this method gets some AM at some frequencies (and aliasing with the shorter rates oc..) but way more hi-fi than anything else i've tried. sometimes mixing in extra taps from the granulator helps, sometimes it doesn't.. tailor for use.

instead of slapping a granulator in a container with 2 sliders and posting it for a ~700k d/l, i figured i'd just say about it and let you try synthedit for yourself if you haven't already.
