beeswaks

hello

are there any additional skins available? the default one is a little too aggressive on an lcd and the other skins i have aren't up-to-date with the current version of eXT...

and yes, i already ran out of patience with the gui editor Laughing

thanks

Have you tried the 'updated' version of Shifrin's skin? http://www.btinternet.com/~sephid/massiva/shifrin.gui ...it's quite nice.

Thanks! And they'd both look a hell of a lot better if either jorgen would stop making changes or if I got off my lazy ass and updated them completely! Wink

So I've been really intrigued with the idea of using eXT within Max/MSP... so I reskined eXT into something quite sterile, much like the Max environment.

It can be time consuming, but rewarding - I've just re-done most of the bmp's from my skin (over 60 of them) which will be ready soon. I was never quite happy with it! Then maybe a totally new design Wink

iwallis wrote:

When you're running XT right-click the background to bring up the menu and towards the bottom is a menu heading called 'Options...' (I think - my memory is useless). Well it opens up the gui editor! From there you can make changes to the colours of the gui, and add your own bitmaps etc.

splitting? sure, no prob!
resize? you mean like tempo/beat map, stretch without changing pitch?

jorgen
pough
Posted: 23rd April 2004 14:20
Actually, I just mean trimming the ends, to remove inital silences and to trim off the ends (by moving the left side of the clip over to the right or the right side over to the left). I really like the way Tracktion does it (and maybe others, as well). It does non-destructive editing of audio clips. When you "split" a clip it just includes the same file twice, with different start/end points.
jorgen
Posted: 23rd April 2004 14:34
sure, thats how it works in the Audio part comp. Coming up in the sequencers audio track too.

jorgen wrote:

Just splitting would make things much easier for me ...some way to trim the beginning of Audio parts. But since you brought up "stretching" parts...I'd really like the ability to Stretch and scale the size of MidiParts and selections of midi. Should be easier than adding time stretching to audioparts.

thanks,
nF
pough
Posted: 23rd April 2004 14:54
One other thing: I recorded some guitar last night and it was only one one channel, but the clip showed two channels of sound! I wonder if you could either make a track mono or maybe show in the clip that it's only one one channel...
jorgen
Posted: 23rd April 2004 15:13
An audio track can play many different formats at the same time. But I agree, if audio input is mono, the recorded sample should be mono too. Already on my todo-list.

thanks
jorgen
pough
Posted: 23rd April 2004 15:17
Mono sounds cool to me, but the input wasn't actually mono. It's just that it was only on one channel of a stereo input and the clip looked like there was sound on both channels. I should have remembered to put the mono-stereo plugin BEFORE the sequencer comp input!
