Using EXT VST 1.24 from 28/02 in Live 3.0.2 on win2000.
Made a little testsetup using the sequencer and TobyBear Borderliner VSTI which worked fine I could sequence the vsti within Live [ though not in sync but that is a known issue - see a few posts below ] For some reason now in my manipulation of the sequencer, EXT VST crashed and Live crashed along. Restarted Live , inserted EXT VST, made the exact same setup as at first, but now the sequencer gets stuck on the very first note in the sequencer [ gets stuck at bar 1 is first note is there , bar 2 if first note is on bar 2 ... where ever ] . I close EXT VST and want to delete it : not possible, I get popup with "Group Clear Error" ... can't close popup, Live is frozen and neet to quit through taskmanager ... How many times I rstarted Live and EXTVST in this setup, this always happened over and over again ...

Have done further testing ... this strangely enough happens alone on track 1 from Live ... inserting it on track 2-8 gives no problem ...
I'll report this as well to Ableton . Can anyone confirm this behaviour here ... : -1- Insert EXT VST on track 1 in Live 3.0.2 -2- Make simple setup with sequencer -> master out -3- Insert VSTI and create sequence -4- play sequence -5- Observation : Sequencer gets stuck on first note -6- Close GUI EXT -7- Try to delete EXT VST

Narrowed down the problem top the sequencer module, nevertheless ... this only happens - on any track in Live - but only if a note is inserted on one of the top 3 lines from the top above the '8' line

is that in xt:sequencer? jorgen

Yes ... but I've been testing further right now and apparently it's specific to Tobybear Borderliner VSTI. Everything that's a few steps above the "8" line crashes E XT standalone or E XT VST + Host
I had chosen this one at random to test with this result ... I've now tested a few random other vsti's where there are no problems. Sorry to have bothered you ...

So you are saying that very high note values make Borderliner crash? I'll have to check this...

I have gotten this error and I don't use Borderline. Don't ask me how I got it, but I have seen it before. I thought I saw it when closing Tracktion, not when actively using ext, so I probably didn't pay much attention. |
