AuthorTopic: 32float and 24bit conversion not accepted by XTsa

Hi jorgen,

I have uploaded a rar package with a few soundbites. Exept for 16bit files I can not open 32float files (I know they are not supported) but also if I convert them down to 24bit they are not accepted by XT.

I only can open a few 24bit files (Which I didn't made) but none of my files (and others) can be opened.
I have no clue why but obvious they have differences.

In the package is an original 32 float snippet and a few types of convertions with Audition and one with Cubase to 24bit.

I Like very much 32float because they don't suffer by processing them and I'm used working with them (All my files are in that format).
Click right here and save to disk to download (mozilla), because if you just click it will be all gibbirisch nonsens in your browser

Ciao

it seems the audio parts can't be used with 24bit files , i always get a message like "sample rate not supported" , hope this will change however

btw , do the audio parts only respond to one key (C1 ?) or did i miss something ? it would be great to have this adjusteable/routeable , maybe even per channel or even per clip inside an audio part.
i know that there are workarounds available , but it would simplify some processes imho

I don't understand. I'm absolutely possitive at some point I could load 24 bit files (some of them). It's not clear anymore if it is supported or not. You can save to 24bit via the master out but not load what you have saved??.

I thougt 24bit was supported but not 32float.
Jorgen??

From the official helppage
Quote:

Triggering Parts

Parts are triggered by MIDI, so first you need to route a MIDI cable to it. MIDI-to-part triggering is automatic, C1 plays part 1, C#1 plays part 2, D1 plays part 3 etc.

You did indeed miss something! The audio part has channels and parts. Each part can have multiple channels that will play at the same time. Each part is triggered by a different MIDI note, starting with C1.

TWO CHANNELS
Click the "edit" button to add another channel. Each channel has independent volume and pan controls, but all are triggered by the same note.

TWO PARTS
Click the "new" button to add another part. Now you can select it with the dropdown. A new part will be triggered by the next note, so the second part is triggered by C#1.

To rename parts, right-click in the audio area and select "Rename part..." Cool
