After some searching around I found that I must be missing the midi in vst plugin, to get midi into xt from live.
I will have to try when I get home.

distraub,
1) download the effect version of XT (energyXTE) 2) download the midixt.dll from http://www.xt-hq.com/download 3) load energyXTE into live and setup yout vst folders 4) load some vst's into energyXTE 5) load midixt.dll into energyXTE and select midi driver you want to use 6) connect midi out from midixt to the vsts you loaded and want to playback thats about it! Let us know if you need more help cheers jorgen

hehe, yep that is me I am wrapping it up in the next week or 2. I have 12 tracks complete, and working on the last 3. So once I am done, I have to ship it off to be replicated, and find a euro label to license it to... should be end of april, beginning of may. If all goes well. thanks for asking -alex-

Hi guys,
I thought I'd give this a try and still haven't got it working. I tried following Jorgen's instructions, they seem easy enough, but I'm not hearing anything in Live. Does it matter if both XT and Live are set to use the same midi out? If so, do I need midiOX to do this? I see my midi activity in Live, but not in XT. I'm still a newb when it comes to both programs, if anyone could walk me through this it would be great. Thanks

What I was doing wrong was not loading the midi VST in Energy XT that you can download from www.xt-hq.com

HI,
yup, I have the midi plugin in energy. I have it plugged in from the master midi out to the midixt in, and then out of that into my vst's. I only have one physical midi input on my soundcard, and both Live and the midixt plugin are set to use the same. I insert XT onto a track in Live, load up some Vst's in energy , arm the track, but don't hear anything. I don't think it has to do with how my soundcard outputs are set up, because I can load a clip onto a track and hear it fine. I must be missing something really basic, but after hours of fiddling with it it still eludes me.

I got it working too, but not until I double clicked on the midiXT module and actually activated (double click the midi connection you want.)
Works great! I'm running Crystal with a very manageable CPU load. V-station is even less of a hog. I did have some errors using Polyiblit however. Only on exiting Live though - msg read: "Error closing polyiblit comp." Wait til the word spreads that you can do this in Live. Jorgen, you've got some huge potential here... a happy camper, ~Mark
