AuthorTopic: Audio Part Observations

Jorgen,

I was using the Audio Part last night & has some observations...

1) The wave display at the bottom of the Audio Part doesn't resize when the timeline is zoomed in or out. Could this be changed to have a seperate zoom feature?

2) I think it would be much more useful if the individual audio parts were shown just as individual MIDI parts are shown in the MIDI Part comp. Especially if you had the same user input controls for triggering the parts. It would be much easier to scroll down for viewing & editing of each audio part rather than going to different pages for each part. Copy/paste functions would also be much easier.

3) The window doesn't resize. This can be a real drag (no pun intended... but it's there Razz ) because you can't see the entire length of audio parts that are longer than 8 beats.

4) A Cut/Paste feature would be a welcome addition. If you want to move a clip, you currently have to right-click & select copy to copy the clip, go to your new location (sometimes a different part), right-click & select paste to paste the clip, go back to original clip location, right-click & select delete to delete the clip. This could be made simpler in two ways. If you stay with the right-click menu, add a Cut option so you don't have to copy then later delete. If you add keyboard shortcuts to the Audio Part, add CTRL-X to cut the selected clip. Which remindes me...

5) You can only select one clip at a time. It would be nice to be able to select multiple clips to move, delete, copy, paste, etc.

hi, most of you suggestions are already implemented for the next upload http://www.xt-hq.com/updates/ , see the 'coming next' section (it lists stuff already implemented)

separate zoom in sample view, ctrl-x and part-transport (like in MIDI part) is on my todo-list.

I have done a lot of work lately to make the MIDI part and the Audio part to look and feel equally.

thanks
