Does energyXT only support asio drivers?

I have installed "virtual audio cable" on my pc and would like to route energyXT's audio through that into my audio sequencer.

I can select the out end of the cable to record from in the audio sequencer ok, but the input end is not found in energyXT Crying or Very sad

at the moment ASIO only yes (afaik) ...

... but - does your sequencer not host vsti (not even through a wrapper) ??? ... since energyXT also runs as a plugin and so negates the need for the virtual routing

I see from your other post that you are using Magix Audio Studio...which apparently only supports DX plugins. Maybe you could download the Console demo. You could then load Console as a DX plugin into your host...and then load EnergyXT into it. You would also need to download the MidiXT plugin to route your midi into EXT.

Early versions of the EXT Standalone audio driver supported DX...but I've deleted all my very old backups. Maybe someone can dig something out of their archives for you.

Also just incase I thought I'd ask if you have Magix Midi Studio also?...if you bought them as a bundle?...cause of coarse then you could load VSTi's into it. I did find Audio Studio sold seperately for $5 HERE Wink

Not sure how you plan on synching the apps, maybe you'll be better off just exporting the audio from EXT and droping the wavs into AudioStudio.

simply stunned reading this agian. Seems any possible midi audio host VST connection live seq etc. problem gets solved just within this forum. Next time I'll write some cryptic sentences and see if Nicfit or phz can guess what other hosts I run Very Happy .
By the way ezza if you'd like to follow Nicfit's advice with older versions of XT drop me a line, I think on some old CD-Rs I must have some of the early (well don't know when DX-support stopped but have some pretty old versions I think) EXTs. It's a bit out of order what I've saved on the CD-Rs, but after a while I should find it Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Hi,

yes I am using Audio Studio. I have been using Midi Studio but I am getting fed-up with switching apps/bouncing etc. All I want to do is play my vsti (reaktor/battery) straight to audio tracks in Audio studio to go with guitar and bass.

I can load energyXT inside Audio Studio and connect all ok but it still won't record what I play to an audio file Sad

Maybe I just need to get a host that can do this tho' Samplitude is > 900 euro Shit!

Or maybe a soundcard with multi-client drivers...

or maybe I should go back to music making and check back in a while when I'm sure it will be possible Wink

obvious workaround (assuming youve recorded your bass and guitar into audio studio already) would be to do it ALL inside energyXT standalone (ie - import your bass / guitar audio into it and play along live with reaktor / battery - recording your MIDI input as you go) ...

... then just export the newly recorded material as seperate .wav files and mix the whole lot back in audio studio (taking advantage of that awesome samplitude mixodwn engine)
