Beta 22-april-2004
- Audio recording in sequencer (16-bit only, loop rec not working)
- Split MIDI parts (alt + mouse click) in sequencer
- Glue MIDI parts in sequencer

Jorgen I have a couple questions...

Is there a key modifier to glue parts yet?.

And after we split a part, the data outside the split points is disguarded. Is there anyway to retain this data so we could resize the part later to gain back some of the trimmed data? (I can work around this by just copying and resizing parts instead of splitting them.)

Thanks for the update!

hi,

ctrl + g to glue

at the moment, split will the split events for real, but just setting the start/end of events in the newly created partes sounds like an idea for a future version...just need to be able to crop the beginning of a part...

Awesome!! ...just recorded some guitar into the sequencer ...I may have to take a sickday at work tonight. Wink

Is the record enable button on the AudioTracks the only new graphic that skinners will have to worry about updating?

hello, how are you recording guitar into a sequencer?
could you expand a little on this?

Sure...
First make sure you are using the latest beta

Load a sequencer component into your project...

Notice the Master In has both a Midi and Audio connection.

Route the audio port to the audio input on the sequencer.

open the sequencer and locate the Track menu.

Add an Audio track

Select the audio track and click the record enable button on the track.

Now when you first click the record in the sequencers transport...

a dialog box will popup and ask you where you wnat to save your audio files.

Alternatively you can already have this setup or change it later from the "options" menu

You can control the level of the sequencers input on the left of the sequencers window labeled "Inputs"

If you have a multi input soundcard you can enable more inputs...right click on the Master In and select Inputs and Outputs.

Now add however many inputs your souncard has enabled(make sure they are enabled in your audio setup)

Also you can right click the sequencer component and select Inputs and outputs, to add or delete input ports if you like...

You will see the little squares representing the ports you added in the main window.

Now you route them wherever you like, even through an FX plugin if you want to record wet.

The sequencer will display a level fader for every input you have added.

Or you could route all your inputs to the same port on the sequencer and just worry about one level.

NicFit,

Thanks for the tutorial. I am confused about 1 thing: can you record mmultiple seperate parts at the same time? I could not find a way to assign inputs to tracks - it seemed like all inputs were mixed and arrived at all tracks that were record-enabled.

Thanks, Eric

@jens-

Thanks man! I have to say jorgen deserves most of the credit for adding features faster than he can write the docs Laughing

@ebinary-

Yeah, recording multiple inputs to seperate tracks in one pass isn't happening yet. But I bet it's on the list, hopefully when jorgen see this he will comment and let us know if it's planned.

ebinary, you can only record one wav at the moment.

I havent finished 'input -> track' assignment in the gui yet, but when I have, you will be ablt to record all your inputs to different tracks...

you need to have a webspace where you uploaded them.
Then the picture has an adress - say:
http://www.this-is-an-example.com/example-picture.jpeg

Then you can post it like this:

the same goes for any picture from the web that you want to post here.
