Is there any tool/plugin on the VST market today that does what eXT is doing? That can act as a standalone VST host and at the same act as a VST-plugin with the same high degree of integration in the VST host environment?
My God, this really is an amazing program ;D. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I see only one more, major issue that stands in the way of eXT integrating itself seamlessly in a VST host environment: VST automation forwarding. If you add a VST plugin in eXT today, there is no way of automating it from the VST host except through midi CC, which is far from enough at some times (and besides, it makes the plugin in eXT invisible from the host's point of view, which can be troublesome sometimes). If you could send automation data to eXT and have eXT forward it to the targeted plugin, that would take care of everything. I know that Jorgen has talked about this, so I am not trying to bitch in any way. Just wanted to point out how close eXT is to this important milestone (and while we're at it, perhaps "real" VST automation - i.e automation without midi CC - within eXT could be something to put on the list? *grin* ;D). Thanks once again for this incredible piece of software Regards, Tomas |
