| Author | Topic: Bug? - multiple audio-inputs in sequencer (standalone) | |
| jens | Posted: 17th May 2004 16:06 | |
I'm having a problem when trying to use other that the first audio-input into the sequencer - it simply doesn't work. The master-input sends the audio-signals
of multiple soundcard-inputs correctly, but when I connect the outputs from the master-in to different inputs than the first (stereo-)input the sequencer obviously doesn't receive the signal - am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? by the way: I find the way in which eXT-sequencer already handles audio-loop-recording superb. (I assume that mute/solo/volume/pan works (in the audio-part-editor)is already on the todo?)

Bump:
Am I the only one experiencing this? If so: What am I doing wrong? Or isn't anyone of you using multiple ins?

what do you mean by this ? you can change vol/pan/mute/solo per audio-track , even per audio-track-channel (left side ). i can't say much about the multiple ins yet i'm likely gonna use more inputs when the standalone gets the ability to send/receive midi sync

Solo/mute in the audio-editor doesn't work yet - that's what I meant - but Jorgen has implemented it now
see http://www.xt-hq.com/updates/ Yes, audio-recording works here as well and all my soundcards' input-channels (4) work, but for me in the sequencer only the first stereo-input works - that's what I tried to say (but probably didn't succeed at

looks like only one input of the seq is functional at the moment. i'm sure this is going to change while the sequencer gets multi track recording options which is on the list already (AFAIK).

Yep...your absolutely right. I know jorgen said he was planning on working on the sequencers input routing...so hopefully soon we will be able to select seperate inputs for each audio track. For now it's no big deal since we can only record one track at a time. I could have sworn it worked on one of my systems with one of the betas...but I might be crazy. But I don't like routing all my inputs to the same input on the sequencer cause it adds to the noise floor. For now I using a mixer component between my inputs and the seq, and soloing the channels in the mixer is the best solution. nF

so it really doesn't work at the moment - thanks, that's all I wanted to know Good point about the mixer between the master-in and the sequencer though

This has to be top of my personal list. What I'd like to be able to do is be able to set up Energy XT with an audio file, a guitar input and a vocal input. Posh karoake, but good for live use.

It's top priority!

Excellent! I'd heard the support was responsive, but this is ridiculous. [Actually, I bought EnergyXT yesterday...]

Jorgen, I thank you for your fantastic work- I think eXT has now reached a state where it can replace Tracktion as my main sequencer, so I will register it tonight when I'm back home from work. The multi-channel audio-editor is something I have been longing for since I'm making music on pc - it is THE solution for things like audio-loop-recording, vocal-comping etc. Now when you even implement in-track editing for audio-tracks it actually will be to good to be true.

Check the beta page!!
Beta 24-may-2004 - Multi-in recording in sequencer - In-track editing of audio events I just got done recording 8 stereo tracks(16 channels) of audio into the sequencer from 8 different inputs. I can't believe what I'm seeing. Stunned! nF
