I use a graphics tablet because its quick and accurate. The only programs which uses the pressure features seem to be art programs. If pen pressure was supported it would cut down time time spent programing because you could effectively do two things at the same time.

This is how I program now...

1) Program the drum pattern.
2) Make it relistic (soft and hard hits)
3) Make it intresting (pans etc)

This is how it could be with pen pressure support...

1) Program the pattern. The pen pressure is set velocity.
2) Make it intresting. Drawing filter cut off envelopes with resonance assigned to pressure would be pretty cool Smile

I have an Intuos2 Platinum, a Graphire2 and a Graphire3... all are great products. The Graphire models can easily fit in a laptop bag to carry with you anywhere.

However, the Cintiq or a Tablet PC are better options if you can afford them -- the biggest difference being the ability to draw directly on what you are looking at. Overall, they offer a better experience.

But, yes, tablets and sequencing do go well together, and the automation possibilities go beyond that of a simple mouse or joystick controller.

@Lalo: Get one you wont regret it. I didnt learn how to write with a brick so im not using a brick to make music.

@ PaintedBlue: Id love to get Cintiq or Tablet PC but I cant afford it. The second I can afford a Cintiq Im getting one. For peeps who dont know what we are on about look at this...

If EXT supported tablets the Cintiq would be an musical instrument in its own right.

As for the Intous2...

@ Plastique: OMG!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

This is an amazing peice of software. Its turned my Graphics Pad into a Kaos Pad on steriods!!!
If these options where in Ext it would leave the competition for dead..Especially for live sequencing.
