AuthorTopic: Feature request - Option to have parts filled with color

I find that seeing which Parts are selected can be not always so obvious - because there is only a 1 pixel stroke around the selected Part.

My request is that you have an option under the Color menu item to

"Select outline color" or
"Select fill"

The select outline option would work how the current color selection works.

The select fill option would allow you to set both a fill and stroke. See this example image:

As you can see, its alot more user friendly - because you can see the Part selected straight away, and you can see your colored parts more easily

Double-clicking and editing a single part (in the Part editor window) would have the same normal default background color - fill colors would only be used on the sequencer track level. I'm a big fan of setting part colors (like warm colours for percussion and drums, cool colors for synths, for example) but at the moment the part colors + selection aren't as clear as they could be

Make sure you keep the option only to Select outline color as I guess some people might like to work that way without more obvious colors

Anyone else have opinions on this?

PS I don't normally set bright part colors like in the image, this was just for example. I would normally choose a subdued red in that case Wink Not so eye burning!

In my previous host (Muzys) when we asked the dev to implement selecting part colors he added controls for Hue, Saturation and Brightness to modify colours quickly. Very quick and easy to use! Check out the Muzys demo to see how it worked http://www.muzys.com
