Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know a very handy DR-008 hint I found out with some help from a couple of users. Basically, with DR-008 v1.11 and its Battery Import Wizard (available by emailing me, will be included officially in the next 1.xx subrelease), along with the wonderful Awave Studio from FMJ Soft (www.fmjsoft.com), you can now import AKAI and SF2 patches in to DR-008. The key is to use the *.kit format of Native Instruments' Battery drum machine. This format is exported by AWave and Battery; Awave can import AKAI and SF2 and convert them to *.kit. DR-008 v1.11 can IMport *.kit, provided you have the Battery Import Wizard. If you're a registered v1.11 user, mail me for this wizard DLL. There are a few limitations, the major one is that DR-008 does not support key ranging as of now. Samples that are mapped across a range of keys in their native format (i.e. "chromatic" percussion) will be mapped only to a single key in DR-008. There's no workaround for this, nor is one likely in the short term. Regards, Angus. |
