Hi,

Help I am trying to create a simple project in Cubase SX 1.02 demo. When I start the project, it says "could not set sample rate...".

The sound card is an Audigy 2 and I'm trying with both "Creative Asio" and "SB Audigy Asio [D400]".
And the clock source is set to "internal". Any ideas?

Also, what's the difference of the two Asio drivers? Question

Thanks

jim

are you saying that it wont physically change,or that it reverts back to the default. setting?

No, I'm saying that it just gives me this error message. I don't know what implications this may have ("the sample rate could not be set...")

Yeah, I know (and I should bin it) but in the project settings I DO select 48000 as the sample rate. So, what's that message saying?

Have you tried selecting 16bit 48000hz? I was sadly using one of those "soundcards" about a 6 months ago and I had that message come up. Unfortunately, 6 months is a very long time in terms of my memory so I can't quite remember what I did to sort it. I think I selected 16bit 48000hz and then saved my project, closed Sx down, reopened my project and all was well in Cubase land. (apart from I was using an Audigy)

I was going to suggest the same, I had the same problem a while back and, and fixed it by saving to a new project with new settings, but does SX demo save?

nope, it doesn't Crying or Very sad

Anyways, so you're saying that in the proper version, all I have to do is save and reload? Or "save as" ?
