Hello my friends,
I was thinking of buying an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard, and I think it comes with this Ableton Live Delta software. Anyone know how this compares with normal Ableton live, or if its good in general? I have steinberg remix already, so if its not much better i won't make it a decision-maker on the soundcard. If Live delta is pretty good then the card is definately worth getting. Thanks in advance.

Bloody hell, doesn't anyone have this card and software?! Or is it maybe that this version of Live is a bit crap and no-one uses it.
Someone, please help! Someone must have used this version of live?!

It's not the real thing, but it's better than remix (because, you get midi control)
limited to 8 track, and only 1 vst plug in per instance of live, but the included effects are cool...

Thank you counterfeit! From the little i have played with remix (only got it recently) it seems like a great package for some experimenting and jamming, but the lack of MIDI control makes it seem more like a toy than a real tool. MIDI control would make it so much better. By the way, is there a (hopefully cheap) upgrade route to the full version live from the delta version?

In fact i already own LIVE 3 full before i got Live delta with the M-audio transit and yes, in the package there's a special 50% reduction for upgrading to the full version (at least, here in france..)don't know if it's available in all country, but the text is in english,so....it's a great deal methink.........
sorry for my crappy english

Thanks for the advice, and don't worry about crappy english, I am a born englishman and my english could be better! I am thinking that I'll take a chance on the audiophile 2496, it looks like a decent card, and if it (possibly) enables me to upgrade to full version live sometime in the future, thats just a bonus really. It is a cut back version of 1.5 with no upgrade path. Here is a thread on the Keyboard Mag forum in which an MAudio rep answers some questions about it.

wrong, in the package i received with the transit USB,there was a leaflet with a big "-50%" on it, with a special link to the Ableton website, where you can upgrade to the full version for half the price, didn't try the link, cause i already own LIVE..... Since then i've sold the M-audio transit, and Live delta with it.....

Hmmm. I guess the Transit USB has a different offer than the 24/96, which I own two of. There was no leaflet with a 50% off option. Of course, it might be based on the cost of the hardware you buy. The 24/96 is a very economical card. 50% off of Live would almost pay for the MAudio 24/96, which may be why the MAudio rep says you cannot upgrade the demo of Live that came with it.
