Hello everybody,
( I apoligize for posting this here, but I figure the Host section of this forum gets more traffic, and the OFF TOPIC section did not yeild ANY answers, I know the answers might be a whole lot to type, but please, for the sake of everyone, please post what help you can. ) I am about finished with my new album. I produce electronica, IDM, experimental music, (ala Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Shpongle, Warp Records, Rephlex Records.) I have worked on and released many many albums under other genres of music, but I really don't know where the best place to start marketing and promoting my new IDM album. It truely is much better MUSIC than any other project I have ever done with a lot of jazz influence as well. I now have a rather large budget to promote and market it with. My biggest problem is that I live in San Antonio, TX USA, where we don't even have one electronica radio station. I know that there are people all over the world that would really feel my music. I know there are much more people in London and Berlin that would buy my CD, than probably in the whole state of TX. Can anyone give me any good advice on where to spend my marketing and promotion budget? Where or who should I shop distribution too? So far I have only though of certain mags like Computer Music, Future Music, Sound on Sound, Keyboard Mag. Late night MTV or BET advertising, maby a infomercial. Any other Ideas? How about where would I start for European distrubution for this style of music? Thanks, Dex | |
