AuthorTopic: Bitshift's Bangin' Beats for GarageBand!

My friend and yours, Bitshift, has released a sampling of loops for use with GarageBand. It is a preview of an upcoming loop library designed specifically in Apple's loops format, but can be used in any sequencer that uses AIFF files.

Go check em out for yourself, there is a 40MB free sample.

Thanks Art

What's he doing making free loops for Garageband? Isn't he supposed to be porting Rhino over to the Mac? Razz

Or heaven forbid, he actually fixes and/or updates PhatmatikPro.

Apparently he isn't lazy, he just doesn't bother to do the things he's supposed to do!

Hey guys,

What about giving Artie a break ? As far as I know he never committed to anyone about getting Rhino / Angelina ported over to mac... He gave it a honest try, and it didn't work out. Things like this happen.

Didn't Art (Bitshift) say something to the effect of 'loop slicing is so last year?' I guess canned loop libraries for apple are 'in' this year.

Laughing

(Sorry, couldnt resist after all the ranting)

Nobody gets a break!

Just having a laugh, 'Tick. I don't really care one way or another, since Rhino and Angelina are both working just fine on my PC. Wink

Ah come on guys. Art's a good guy. And this is just something he is doing. And it is for a new program that is an easy to use loop and audio production tool. I for one am glad to see it. Being able to expand on the Apple loop libraries is a great thing.

Ah, nothing against Art. That was just a little dig about a "bug" (or maybe it's a feature) I have with PhatPro. Art marches to his own tune, which is cool with moi.

I dont think Apple Loops are just "canned loop libraries", or just another loop slicing format. According to Bitshift, they offer some very interesting possibilities.

Sounds quite revolutionary to me. Very Happy

Woo yeah. It even incorporates a few "oddball" ideas about looping formats that I've had over the past two years. Amazing what one can stuff into an EA IFF 85 file, no? Very Happy

There are some pretty wild loops in here. But pHATMaticPro won't load these loops in FLS or Sonar. Why is that? Live 3.02 for WinXP can load them though.

Cheers,
Gordon

I stand corrected.

Makes me curious if 'Metagroove' was the next thing he had hinted at.

I don't think the PC version of PPro supports AIFF, does it?
