Hi all,
I've had some struggles when changing my buffer size to a higher number. (Device setup menu / multitrack) Several vsti's starts to click and pop, and notes arent played in correct length and time. 1 of the vsti's was fixed buy using "old host behavior" mode, but the rest still have this problem. Only if I return to the buffer size in which they were originally recorded, will they play back normally. Is this a Cubase problem, a vsti problem or a soundcard problem ?? (or something else)

I have also the problem of clicks and pops on at least one song I've created in SX1 and loaded to SX2, but didn't found out the cause so far. Since it worked in SX1 I guess it's not a soundcard or driver problem and is related to the new SX2 VST 2.3 engine.
Does setting "old host behaviour" for all used plugins work? I'm currently not at home but will try it later.

setting it to "old host behaviour" fixed my Battery sampler, but with other vsti's it had no effect.

In my song it was LinPlug's DeltaIII - after I changed it to "use old host behaviour" and re-loaded the plugin it worked and the pops&clicks disappeared. Thanks for the tip, I thought this would be only necessary with those horrible feedback noises (I had with other plugins), but it also seems to be the cause for my clicks&pops.
Have you really checked all your plugins? Could it be a FX? Remember you need to reload the plugin or even restart SX2 to take effect of the host behaviour change. I'm using SX 2.0.1 (Build10).

Some plugs still wont let me change buffer size without them going crazy. (Clicks and pops, midi events play back abnormally)
Does anyone know of a list of plug-ins that need to be run in "old host behaviour"...???? I'd sure like to get my hands on that.....

There is an uncomplete and unofficial one at a german Cubase user page: http://cubase.platform-a.net/oldhostplugins/

Never touched the buffer sizes, I'm afraid. Although it seems really weird. |
