I have a question for some FL experts I am currently a Sonar user and because of a stupid Steinb*** Halion String Player, I am looking for another host (Halion String Player does not work nicely through a VST adapter but I heard it is working great in FL). I downloaded FL demo and tried it, Halion String PLayer seemed to work fine but I couldn't get it to work properly when using FL from Sonar (in Rewire and DXi modes): I didn't figure out how to send multiple midi channels to a single synth in Fruity. Is there somewhere in Fruity a way to configure midi channel assignements? (midi input to synth) Besides that, the granulator and the demo song hoocked me quite much, I am seriously considering Fruity as additional host. | ||

I got FLS to use with Sonar, and eventually it changed so that I use FLS primarily and then Sonar. Did you try DirectIXer as well as the Cakewalk adapter? (I have it, but I don't have Halion Strings). Cakewalk and/or Tonewise may be able to help you out on this as well. In order to use multi-timbral VSTI in FLS, you have to insert one track for Halion and one track for each MIDI channel. On the individual channels you put a MIDI Out generator with the Port set, say to "5". On the Halion channel, you set the Port to "5" also. You then do all your programming in the MIDI Out tracks and "ignore" the Halion track. A better explanation with details is in http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34541 Doug |
