What's with the 98se,Rob?I thought you were an XP boy...
What plugs are you seeing this with?I've discovered that 99% of the time the problem's due to the plug and not Chainer. ew

i was ...
but when i got the lappie back from the repairs this time i went back to 98se for a few reasons ... 1 - i only have 256mb ram in my 2 year old machine and wanted a smaller os footprint than XPpro gave me 2 - setting up and tweaking XPpro took so long - i wanted to be up and running quicker 3 - i was having problems with my echo indigo under XPpro - i was curious to see if the 98 drivers would make it work 4 - i can be a curmudgeonly bugger slainte

9.0
btw - chainer appears to be working fine - just these possible side effects worrying me also havig a minor soundcard issue and would like to narrow things down to either chainer or soundcard slainte

sorted ...
i apologise now to anyone whos time i wasted here - the installation of chainer was a red herring seems my problems were down to my creative (i know ... ) drivers not liking the usb-asio ones i laid over them - this worked great on XP but 98se seems not to like it - the creative drivers keep trying to reinstall themselves which is causing the wierdness as far as i can tell oh well ... at least i know chainer works well on my system now slainte

While this thread's still kickin', I'd like to ask if anyone has had problems exporting .sf2 files from Chainer? I tried last night but the resulting .sf2 file was not recognised by Vienna (soundfont editor).
It's okay exporting .wav files though, if a bit tricky getting the levels right. Any tips would be appreciated. |
