AuthorTopic: Audio editor which can embed midi info

Hi,

Does anyone know of an editor on OSX which allows you to view and edit the midi root note info for WAV and AIFF files? Better still, does anyone know a freeware app that will do this? Also does anyone know of a freeware app for Windows that will do this?

I'd very much appreciate anyones help on this.

(Apologies if this is the wrong forum - couldn't really think of a more appropriate one.)

Thanks very much,
Ben

No, but I've needed one recently and will probably have write it myself! Confused (since I need this functionality in batch mode)

I don't completely understand....
Where's the MIDI root note in a WAV or AIFF?? Those are RAW audio formats, isn't it?

wav properties extension from the utilities page at http://www.mda-vst.com will do this for .wav - dont know about .aiff though

(windows only too)

EDIT - should have read closer - this only allows you to view the info not edit it

OK, I get it. Those MIDI root data samplers read on a RAW file, as metadata.

Sound Forge can read it and edit it on a PC, I don't know what happens on the MAC...

Don't know if Audition or the Demo can do this...

I have CE Pro 2.0 and i needed this feature once, so i remember.

On a Mac ? dunno. Smile

Most of the usual (pay) editors can do this. But I think the main thrust here is for a freeware solution.
