HI, i just ordered the tau pro and was wondering how long it took you all to get it from placing an order? it says orders can take up to 72 hours but i was just wondering if its normally quicker than that or not?
cheers | |

It took less for me, but I wasn't keeping track. I think it was two days. However, I was accidentally sent a Windows version, and when I emailed Muon, I received the Mac version (of Electron) within six hours of the email (probably less). So, I'd say they're pretty top notch on this sort of thing. You'll get it soon, I'm sure.

Mr Kipling,
The thing with the 72 hours is just to make sure that we never disappoint anyone. We don't get the order file until 3am each day which means the earliest we could ever process an order is the day after it was placed. Then, we spend quite a while checking credit card details (the amount of lameass WareZ k1dZ who've attacked our site in the last three weeks has been depressing!) and the stuff goes straight out in staggered batches throughout the evening. So 72 hours is the longest anyone should ever have to wait for a delivery from us, in nearly all cases it is much faster than that, even if all of our systems go to hell in a handbasket. Ambrose - thanks for the kind words, and sorry for sending the wrong version. We'll do better next time. Dave Muon Software Ltd www.muon-software.com

cheers for the replies. Im pretty shocked that warez type people are be trying to rip your stuff off, when they cost so little in the first place and as youre just a small company too. Then again i guess theyre not gonna be the most moral of people...
Look forwad to getting my hands on the little beauty

Dave, no worries. These things happen. Your response time was very impressive. I was prepared to wait another 72 hours, knowing that sometimes things like that take time. Instead, I got it the same evening. Excellent customer service.

My TauPro arrived in less than 48 hours. Actually I just copied it on a floppy disk and now I'm rushing from work to home to make some new noises with this baby!

Speaking of Tau Pro's price tag, it's now nearly the end of June and as announced, the price will rise to $30 at midnight UK time today. Hurry to avoid disappointment!

There will be a Mac version and there will be a 20$ offer when it comes out. There will also be a demo version too, for both PC and Mac.
Try running Tau under the normal Apple Sound Manager. I don't know much about the MOTU but we've noticed that some people have trouble using the Digi 001 and some 96khz cards. Maybe some more beta testing wouldn't hurt Dave

Dave,
I'm very interested in buying the Tau pro, but I'm on a macintosh, and it seems there's no mac version yet, so I hope the price for the mac version will stay at 20$ when it will come out. Also, I hope that there will be a demo version. I downloaded the free Tau when you released the mac version, and I have problems using it on my machine (a 7600 upgraded to a G3/400 processor with a Motu 2408 audio card) because I often have very loud random sounds coming out of it. I use everyday vst instruments on my machine (PRO52, LM4, Model E, PPG 2V) and never had this kind of problem. So, if oyu need some beta testing on the mac, just let me know My best regards Project

I got it in slightly over 24 hrs. I really like it, although tonight i just sequenced it and didnt really get around to plugin' midisax into it, probably tomorrow night.
I did a bass line tonight, really huge sound. I paid the full $30, incredible value.

Do you feel better now?
Now even the laziest reader of this pages knows your opinion - One could call it "spam" already! After all: The Tau Pro is still a "clone" of vintage Roland basslines. So: No pitchbend, no ADSR envelopes... and it never was announced as something different! C.

Hey, I know...
Why doesn't somebody make a VST emulation of a Digitech Whammy pedal. Then we could put pitch bend on whatever we want. Imagine a solo on B4 with pitch bend running through a Quadrafuzz
| midisax | Posted: 9th September 2001 21:16 |
Until I found out it doesnt respond to pitch bend
| midisax | Posted: 9th September 2001 21:50 |
Yah, I wish i had tried a demo first. I wasnt aware there were still vsti's without pitchbend in 2001. |
