Hello all...

I know the Soundforum synth is a baby of some magazine and NI but I listened to it yesterday and it sounds great. I was wondering why it is not in VSTi format?

I have heard good things about Reaktor but I dont want to spend that kind of money on a program of that bulk that I will not probably use as much. Should I try Dynamo?

Well if you don't plan on building anything and just want a bunch of nice synths, then yeah.. but Dynamo is alot more CPU intensive than Reaktor right now, you might want to wait to see if they release a newer version of Dynamo based on the Reaktor 3 engine, because it's using the old 2.3.2 engine now and 3 is alot faster.. I'm assuiming this upgrade probably won't be free.

Hi One man gang
Firstly Soundforum synth is in the Reaktor 3 libary
and so can run as VSTi if you have Reaktor. If you buy
Dynamo you are limited to the enembles that come with it
but I think you do have the option of upgrading to Reaktor
at a later date . If you are daunted by the compexity of
Reaktor don't be, It can be anything you want simple or
complex and once you get the basic gist of it you can knock up
a simple synth in less than an hour and then gradually
expand upon it over time as you get more proficiant you can't
do much better than having a synth tailor made to your own
desighns plus you get access to download synths from the huge
user library or purchase the excellent bundles from Dash-synths
for a small fee. I found the best way to learn synth building
with reaktor is to look under the hood of ensembles that other
people have made and study how the modules are connected.
The best advice I would give is to download the the demo of
Reaktor and Dynamo try them both , then think long and hard
and then go and buy Reaktor , that is if you spend a lot of
time with this kind of stuff and intend to continue that way
in the long term , if you are more casual about it go for
Dynamo.
Have you seen the Reaktor 3.0 review in Computer music

Their VERDICT
The only synth you'll ever need
The only sampler you'll ever need
The only effects you'll ever need
Considering what it can do it's a bargin

My VERDICT
SUPERB!!!
