I'm thinking of buying this great software, but I'm not sure if you can record automation into Cubase. Can anyone confirm if it can be done?

TIA,

Hi The Evil Monkey
Yes Reaktor 3.0 does automate in Cubase. You need to select
panel to midi out first though (panel is a Reaktor instruments GUI. (for the uninitiated
)) in in the midi tab of the panels
properties window. Cubase will record button presses, fader and
knob moves and also I think it will record XY moves with the
mouse on the XY graphic screens, but I dont think the XY will
move on the screen during playback as the others do, I may be
wrong though there may be an option that can be checked to
make it move but I havent investigated this to much, all I
know is that if panel to midi out is on and you have Reaktor
as a VSTi in Cubase and then move the mouse around in an XY,
Cubases midi in meter will register input and if it's going
in it can be recorded
Reaktor also has a function called midi learn for use with
externall midi controlers and it makes setup a real snip.
Just right mouse click on a knob , fader, or button
select midi learn move a knob or fader on your external controler
and whatever you selected midi learn for in Reaktor will instantly sync with it. Native Instrumens 4 control is excellent
for this as it sends incremental values and you can keep turning the knobs and they never stop so they never get out of sync
with what you are controling.
