AuthorTopic: Battery Install Problem

If you are trying to install Battery on a Mac that already has the Delta66 soundcard installed and you have Soundmanager set to recognize the Delta Card, Battery has a conflict with it on it's first startup. before you install Battery (and the Direct Connect bugfix on the NI website), set your Soundmanager to "Built-in", install Battery, run Battery the first time, and then set your Soundmanager back to "Delta66".

Other NI Products (B4, pro52) don't appear to have this problem. Hope NI fixes this in their next release.

Hi Tex...

Thanks for the heads up. We are aware of this issue and should be fixed in our next update.

Omar:

Thanks for the update. Also, do you know why Battery would "pop" playing samples in standalone mode but not "pop" when brought up as a VST instrument playing the same samples in Cubase VST/32? Both setups have the buffer set at 512.

A couple of questions...

-Are you using the Delta|66 ASIO drivers or SoundManager drivers in both standalone and in VST? (im going to assume your using the ASIO drivers with VST to get the best performance)

-Does this happen with both SoundManager and the Delta|66 ASIO drivers in standalone mode?

We've had a few reports of some problems with the Delta series ASIO drivers on the Mac. We are already looking into them. Also make sure you running the latest Delta|66 drivers.

Get me some more info about your system and let's see if we can pinpoint the issue.

peace.

Omar:

I installed the updated Delta66 driver, rebooted, reselected the audio settings in Battery standalone mode, and now the popping has gone away. Thanks for the help. I'm running it on a G3/450 Blue & white, 640 Megs RAM, alongside B4, Pro52, and Cubase VST/32. Everything appears to be working correctly now.
