To register at the NI library I need to supply my serial number.

However this is on the box, which is long lost.

Can anyone mail me a zip, please?

thankx = kevvvvv

Forget to mention ...

For anyone who hasn't got them, here's the 16 preset Pro-52 demo from mig music.

Hi Kevvvvv
The Pro-52 serial no is not on the box it is
on your registration card.

As it happens I tried to get at the patches by registering too - and I've got both the box and registration card sitting in front of me as I type.
The bastard wouldn't let me in! Apparently I didn't know where the dashes wanted to go in my reg. number!
Where the hell do they go?
Perhaps I should call Arbiter (with whom I am registered and get them on the case

Hey Kevvv!
Thanks fot the link
I havnt got access to cubase at the minute to test out the demo patches so I was wondering how the migmusic patches compare soundwise to the Electrik bank that is available from NI?

Cheers.

Hi Dom
I've just investigated this serial no thing
The serial no on the pro-52 reg card is a Steinberg
/ Arbiter serial no independent of Native-Instruments.
Native-Instrument serials have more numbers and dashes.
I think you should bring it to Native-Instruments notice
that you can't access the library due to the conflict
in serial no although as far as I know the Pro-52 bank
is the only one in the library but there are bound to be
more in the future.

Jakebhoy,

Haven't tried mig patches yet as have been too busy with Electrix (-:

A while ago I bought some mig Rebirth files, and the drum riffs were pretty good then. Quality.

Meanwhile, NI's forum access is an armpit. Why can't I just give my name and email, accept their cookie and get in?

Warez users are going to get the presets anyhow if they really want them.

NI Kremlin ... ha!

The presets aren't copyrighted or intended to be protected in any way (same with the majority of the Reaktor ensembles in the NI user library). I think M. Brinkman just used that area to upload his P52 presets because it's where the NI user community is.

I'm happy to email the presets to anyone who doesn't have access to the NI user library. They are pretty good, definitely better than most user-made patches.

Hi everyone...

In order to register your Pro-52 product, you must register it with Steinberg, since this is a product exclusively distributed through Steinberg. They can provide you with the info you need to access our user community library.

If not, simply email us an we can help! That's all it takes

peace.

Now that's refreshing, thank you Omar - but have you ever tried dealing with Arbiter, Steinberg's UK distributor? They make Fawlty Towers look like MacDonalds.

Did someone mention Arbiter?

Pass the valium quick..............
Raven

Give me some as well !!!

Everyone knows what a bad reputation they have
can't understand why Steinberg don't get a better
distributer
Raven

I dreamed Arbiter had sold me a Soundblaster last night.
it was sooooo baaaaad I woke up screeming Arrrrh!!!

quick give me some more valium.

But seriously , when I upgraded my pro-5 to pro-52
Arbiter asked for the pro-5 disk back, and then I
heard nothing from them for months despite
repeated emails and phone calls, and the worse thing
was I could't boot up the Pro -5 still on my Pc
because it kept asking for the CD. I eventualy got
my upgrade CD with a note saying sorry for the delay
here is your "free" upgrade, then they promptly charged
my account for it.

Arbiter have been OK with me..

Just thought it fair to mention that knowing how much crap they get - perhaps it's this problem of sole distributership buttership distribu... oh, never mind.

Why not up them to this site?

Omar,

If you're still here ... web users want it NOW. That's the rule of the web. I didn't invent this, it's just the way it is.

Companies who place obstacles, however small, in the way of NOW are working in the wrong direction.

Why can't your website deal with everything NOW?

Hey Cool down Kevvvvv

I have emailed Martin Brinkman (the creator of the bank)
and he has very kindly given permision for it to be posted
here at K-V-R and I have just a minute ago posted it to
Ben so that he can put it up

Oh! and the N.I user library is probably only for
registerd Reaktor users and I think that Pro-52
bank is the only thing in there not OF A Reaktor
kind , and it makes sense for N.I to only allow
registerd users in as it stops cracked software
users helping them selves

Hi Kevvvv...

Raven is correct. The user library is primarily for Reaktor users as it contains instruments, ensembles and macros for use with Reaktor.

So typically, there is no need to allow access to this area for users of our other products since there is nothing there for them. All product updates and files pertaining to those products are usually accessible from there respective product webpage area.

peace.

You're right, guys ... I was angry at not being able to get into NI's library. OTT of me. Sorry.

And Martin's bank wasn't an NI event, so fair enough.

I suppose I just don't like forums where you can't go in and have a read, or where registration is circuitous.

Vsampler's forum is just the opposite, so is Orion's. So is cubase.net, and here at kvr. You can go in and take a look at what users are doing and what they really think, anytime you want. I'm obviously too accustomed to this.

Hi Kevvv...

Sounds like there is a bit of confusion.

We have 2 seperate forums or libraries (however you like to call them)

-User Library (consisting of Reaktor downloads)
-User Forum (a discussion forum mirrored off our mail-list)

Anyone can browse the "user-library" (which is where the patches were posted) and look around, you just cannot download without being prompted for a username/password.

Our "user-forum" (similar to this one) does require you to be a registered users to access and browse about the postings. I agree that this is not the best way. We are already working on implementing a new forum system that will allow anonymous users to browse the entire forum, but of course have to be registered in order to post. We'll keep you updated when this forum is available.

peace.
