hey, shouldnt a bunch of you guys work on a vsti together, making it open source, allowing others to tweak and perfect it. Also allowing beginners to see how a vsti is coded?

I think this is the ideal place for something like that to happen, so why hasnt it happened already?

There's an open-source vsti coming with the vst sdk.
It's pretty bad, but it you're serious about coding vsti it should be enough to get you started.
