AuthorTopic: Drum vsti help needed

Hello everybody, new to this forum and I already need some help.
I just bought a new computer set up, T-bird 1.4 ghz, gig ram, 4 drum cds ( ross garfield, clearmountain) and I already own Battery 1.0. I'm trying to get realistic acoustic drum sounds ala ac/dc. When I import the gm kits, they dont seem to be mapped right and everything seems to have the velocities all messed up, the cymbals get cut off and sound like a sequential circuits drum machine, yikes. I dont mind taking a loss and buying the dr-008 or the linn rm3. Ive heard alot of good things about the dr-008. Any suggestions on a new drum plug in? I do alot of digital editing but am new to using vsti and drum samplers. Yes I have read the Battery manual quite a few times but I think it was written for people more familiar with soft synths. Are there any good online tutorials or books available on using drum machine plug ins. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer, Pete.

Hi pcriss
I love my RM3 ... easy to use and comes with 30 kits.
On the Linplug site there is a tutorial on using RM2 which also applies to RM3. Dollar for Dollar, it can't be beat.
Cheers
