Controller #74 problemo: Erm, this is more of a whisper for help than a cry, but when using VST instruments on Cubase I have the following problem. My controller keyboard is a Yamaha DJX - don't laugh, I'm poor at the minute! Anyway, the filter cutoff knob sends controller information on Ctrl # 74, which is the standard number. However, quite a few VST synths don't stick to this and may use, for example, Ctrl #70 for cutoff. What is the simplest way to remap Ctrl #74 to #70, so that I can control VST synth cutoff with my hardware in realtime? I'm sure there's a simple, 10 seconds of a job, way of doing this! Anyone able to help? Cheers, Reg

Hi RegPheonix
Read page 296 in the Cubase 5.0 online manual (getting into the details) section heading = Mapping controller messages. regards Raven

Hi,Raven!
Some VST instruments allow to change the #CC.For example Pro 52 v2.2 and JX Synth v1.2. If you are talking about Pro 52 (filter cutoff # is 70) you can make your own custom assignments. You can edit the file "Controlmap.txt" (in your Pro-52 folder) with a text editor and save it under the same name. Don't change the definitions of the controllers, only modify the numbers which are on the right side of each equal sign. Change: Flt_Cut=CC:70 ; Filter Cutoff to Flt_Cut=CC:74 ; Filter Cutoff |
