I have a problem with this plug-in.
I've installed vers. 1.12 and also tried updating to 1.4 - but when I start cubase VST I get the message "Orange Vocoder crashed" or something like that.
What could be wrong?

Hi refre
I have found a few plugins that the first time Cubase
is booted up after installing them Cubase says they
have crashed! then after closing Cubase and then re-booting
there is no problem. I think Orange vocoder did it in my
Cubase as well though I can't quite remember I know Tassman
did for sure. If it still happens and you don't get any
more help here you should email Prosonic help line

The manual says there's a way of vocoding two audio tracks in Orange. (without using the built-in synth)
But I can't figure it out, how to. It says, you have to put a carrier fx instance on one track and the 'normal' orange fx on the other. I can't even find the carrier fx...

Please don't tell I have to turn the tracks' pan left and right, beacause I wish to use stereo ins.

Or is that the only way? Then why is it written in the manual?

thanx in advice

As far as I know it is a mono vocoder, so even with a stereo source it would be summed to mono anyway. I've only played around with it a little but, so I may be wrong.

Tufif I just had a quick look in the orange manual and
it says it can be used as a mono or stereo insert effect
in Cubase.

vhollo it can be a bit confusing the first time untill
you get that eureka !!! I know what you want to do, but
it's been a while since i've done this and i've forgoten
the Cubase moves (I keep doin that) if I get time i'll
have a go and get back to you.
The carrier (that you can't find) can be the built in
synth of the orange vocoder or a Cubase track typically a sustained string or synth sound this could be a recorded audio
track or a VSTi triggerd by midi.
The modulator can be a wave loaded into the orange vocoder
or an audio track in Cubase typically speach or singing
it is called the modulator because its formants modulate
the carrier in the vocoder and if you use speach as the
modulator it will make the carrier produce that robot
talking effect.
