AuthorTopic: Best MiniMoog?

Hi Guys,
I would like to know what you think is the best MiniMoog out there. Some people seem to think the model-e is not the best. I have being playing around with the ManyMood ensemble from Reactor 2.33 and it seems quite good though the filter introduces an odd overtone when set to open slowly (an artefact of the overdrive I think). I seem to remember someone posting that this one was better then the model-e. Any thoughts?

I have only the Dynamo (soon to upgrade to Reaktor3) , and the Manymood ensemble has become one of my favorites. I have never tried Model-E, so I really cant say if it's better than the Manymood ensemble. But, I have read some place that Model-E is not a real emulating of a Minimoog model D, more like a next generation Minimoog (a wish for a model E), with different sounding filters.

So the best Minimoog out there is proberly a ...Minimoog, but you cant go wrong with Manymoods or Model-E, but dont expect a real analoge sounding sytnh, since both Manymood and Model-E are digital emulated synths.

I used Model-E for quite a while at college.Although it is a fine VSTi and has arguably the best GUI on any VSTi out there, the fact is that it does not give a paricularly convincing Mini-Moog sound. It has good lead sounds but the bass is just too thin to give an acurate 'analogue' sound.
P.S. Has any one seen the specs for the Mooger Fooger Voyager.Basicaly it is an up to date Mini Moog. All analogue circuitry but full midi implimentation.Still only a mono synth an VERY expensive.

I actually got to play on one at the summer NAMM show. All I can say about it is "WOW!" With all the CV and aux outs on it, they showed how you can route it through the Mooger Fooger pedal line and create a quasi-modular setup. Plus it's velocity sensitive, with aftertouch, and it's got that cool touch surface on it like is on the Midiman Surface One controller.
