Here I go again, some betatesters for my ep complain about the lack of built-in preset management, so tell me, do you need it, and why ? (all hosts allow to load/save/select patches as far as I know)

Thanks for your input,

BT,
Yes! I have CronoX and its preset selection is sooooooooo easy and nice. Time is the essence and anything that can save it is a vote for yes from me.

Easy answer:
So that when I make a patch in Logic, you can open it in Cubase

YES YES YES!

If only more people would put this in their VSTi's.
I tend to work in multiple hosts - particularly FruitLoops and Orion Pro and having different preset formats is excruciating.

I'll never forgive companies creating VSTi hosts with diverse preset formats. It's something they don't really advertise either, bugger them.

Having said that I'm pretty fond of my FruityLoops in particular so I shouldn't sound too pissed.

What were we talking about again?

Hi! Just wanted to throw in the round that I have also started a topic like this some time ago, look here:

Maybe this adds some more opinions...

Personally, I am quite content with the decision to implement my own preset management, for reasons already stated (increased compatibility between hosts)

yeah tick, serious users proboboly need it. it makes the patches you create more valid and enables people to create instrument-specific (as opposed to host-specific) program banks for themselves and others where as otherwise doing that is somewhat impossible.

Allright, I surrender. You'll have it Smile I guess a name editing box, plus load/save buttons, are enough ?
