AuthorTopic: GMedia MIA?

Anyone been in recent contact with Gmedia, makers of phatboy and M-Tron? I ordered M-Tron online and got a confirmatory e-mail that my order was to be shipped, then have heard nothing for close to a month. I tried contacing them via e-mail, with no respose several times, with the last couple of tries being reported as failure deliveries. Are they out of business or what? I had just heard that they put out a new tape set for the M-Tron... Anyone?

I went through similar problems when I ordered my M-Tron a while back (the first time I tried to order online using the Order form, the form wouldn't work right), but they *did* finally get back in touch with me after I sent them an email instead of using their Contact Form on their website (their website does seem to go up and down a lot
...). I finally got in touch with Chris McLeod, Jason Fields and Dave Spiers there, who really helped out a lot.

It doesn't help that the phone number on their website doesn't go to the right place, as you've noticed! The *right* tech-support phone number comes with the M-Tron when you get it (figures!), and they *DO* get back in touch with you when you use that one.

It can be really frutsrating, but in the long run the guys there really did help me a lot with the problems I was having at time with the M-Tron....it's running beautifully now.

I ordered the new "tape banks" for my M-Tron the other week. Was scheduled to start shipping on the 8th. Haven't seen it yet. Figure I should give it another week since they're in the U.K. and I'm in the States. My package is probably caught in some security checkpoint somewhere!

But...

Be patient and try contacting them again. I also had trouble with that form when I was trying to order M-Tron. It was worth it though. I love the mellotron sounds and it's a great price. Don't have to mess around with more expensive sample cds and samplers.

FYI: according to their site at http://www.gmedia.com/gforce/m-tron/index_nu.html there was a delay. Here's the text:

WE HAVE HAD A DELAY IN RECEIVING THE DUPLICATED CD ROM'S. WE HAVE BEEN PROMISED A DELIVERY DATE OF THE 18th OCTOBER SO WILL NOW SHIP ON THE 19th OCTOBER 2001. MANY APOLOGIES TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE ALREADY PLACED AN ORDER.

I had also a strange experience with them.

Months ago I TRIED to buy M-Tron, and looked at their site how to buy it.
As I donīt have a credit-card I just wanted to ask them if they would take the money directly from my bank after giving them the informations.
I mailed them several times - no answer.
then I tried to phone - there was always a woman telling me that they arenīt there at the moment, but she will tell them to get in contact with me.
(Also tried it several times to phone)
-
Nothing.

At that time the M-Tron was only available at their site, so directly from them.

I spoke to dave at GMedia this morning. Seems they had a problem with their servers for the last few days. Everythings back up and running now, i just checked.

Desperate for those new sounds though.

I sent a link to this thread and one at my site to gmedia yesterday.

Bluey has replied with the same message at both sites.

Bluey, are you from Gmedia??? Would be a bit of a coincidence otherwise!

And this post:
"The site's back up and the sounds look good to me. I love the tron to death and have used it on a couple of released tracks.
My order's in and I cant wait..... "

Obviously a Gmedia person, what don't you come out of the closet

Hmm... Interesting marketing strategy. Make it extremely difficult to obtain, therefore creating an aura of desirability. Anyway, Chris McLeod replied to my resubmitted mail and passed the buck to Q Up Arts, the US distributors, who he said had been contacted last week about my order query. I haven't heard from them yet so I guess I'll need to do a search and fire off another mail. I do so enjoy tracking down vendors of products and begging them to please accept my money in exchange for thier valuable commodity.

Blue, Just so you can see my post twice.

I don't work for G-media but I do know Dave quite well. He has worked with a lot of musicians on the London scene and is considered one of the good guys. Amongst the musos in the UK G-media has a good repuatation. They use great musicians for the Gforce stuff, pay them good royalties and generally help 'em out. If I see anything written about them that's not right, I'll do my best to help them out too.

Hi Bluey

Why didn't you tell Dave about this post so that Dave could answer "the bad things written..." himself then?

How come you registered at the audio zone just to post that message?

This is the mail I sent G-Media:

"hello
just wanted to drop you a line telling you there are some bad vibes about your company http://www.bluelifeaudio.com/viewtopic.php?topic=681&forum=22 http://www.kvr-vst.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=0012 37

In my expereince, a good way to react is to join and write a few messages.
I have a an Mtron BTW
"

Strange that Dave doesn't post himself, that's all I'm saying.

regards

blue
