hi putte!

...yep - if you've got m-tron then you've got to get these new banks!

They're about in the same range of usability as the first set (anyone written anything using those 'rhythm patterns' yet?!) - but there are definitely some that are cool: clarinet, cello, a couple of the voice banks, and strangely the vocoder swell especially if you set the attack to half and full decay.

I missed a registered mail delivery today when at work. Have to pick it up from the local mail office.

I guess that's my long overdue M-Tron disc.

For some reason I feel suddenly feverish and faint.

I feel a sickie coming on!

I know some hip hop guys who've used the rhythms on a couple of tracks and the bloke who programmed the Soul to Soul stuff told me that he'd used the sad strings on a Latin track.

Anyway, the killer sounds for me on the new cd are the harp glissandos, the roxy music strings and the vocoder swell.

Still waiting for mine.

There's that one song on Yes: The Ladder that sounds exactly like one of those rhythm tapes, although it's probably not M-tron (don't know that it was out yet). Probably from a different source.

Can't wait to hear those harp glisssssssses - and those choirs!

I think King Crimson used one of those "Sad String" sounds at the very beginning of the first song on their "Thrak" CD, "VROOOM"...but of course that was *well* before the M-Tron even came out, so it must've been off a real Mellotron....

hey, wait!

Wasn´t it King Crimson using Waldorfs Attack in their psychedelic-mystic song "Someday there will be something called VST", back in 1972???

Heh...yep, Robert Fripp and the boys certainly do tend to be ahead of their time with such things...
