AuthorTopic: Does Dash have a quality standard ? Dash Attack !!!!

Do Dash have a quality standard, or will they accept any old rubbish for sale these days ?
Dash looks like its starting to replace Natives resource for newer ensembles made recently.

So its "I know, i've just made and ensemble and rather be nice and upload it to Natives server, i'll see if I can get a few bucks for it". So everybody looses, since Dash has now become the alternate resource that was once free and is now an expense. Where as somebody may have uploaded quality like Steampipe, we now find we have to pay Dash.

And to top it off, the past postings of the arrogant william, where he dissed Native to no ends and revealed he had in fact received Reaktor for FREE. It's his business if he wants to sell his own stuff, but receiving Reaktor for free and then attempting to cut out Natives good will and user base resource for profit is another.

I just hope Native stipulate in their license agreement for Reaktor 4, no ensemblers to be be sold. Or maybe they will include some code necessary with each ensemble.

So is there any real quality here on Dash or have they lost it for hard cash completely ? It just seems that they want to relate their ensemblers to every bit of old kit made, and i can assure you Reaktor is no replacement for a SY2 or D50 or Wavestation, its just not possible.

First I would like to tell you that I don't sell all synths from Reaktor users. DashSynthesis is now a community of members (closed, so no new members). You can take a look on the AboutUs page. Our intention was to bring users more and moer synths with better support. Not to kill Reaktor-User-Library. Sorry if you think that way, we don't.

Well, we talked to NativeInstruments and "shaked-hands" and I asked sorry about that. I was upset but now we are doing great. My site promotes more Reaktor than anything else on the Internet, so we are doing some kind of a "Favour" to them.
Please, try to understand that we are trying to do something nice here. Not all things are for FREE on this life. Otherwise, market would colapse.

Ok, first if NI would do that on Reaktor4, they would only lost, not gain anything. Second: We don't design synths to replace the real things. We do that for people who can't afford a D50 or just loved the old SY2 but don't have it anymore. We also try to bring new stuff to our users, like AnalogonVector (by WaveInHead) and HyperDrums (WilliamK). Liqih (Luigi) just did some great stuff too. Please, visit the site again and take a closer look. And we are not going to sell any synth, DashSynthesis is a closed community. You can see the list of members on the AboutUs page.

Hi Bluey ,

I think you are right about asking your question.
I hope that William "arrogancy" is a past issue.
dashsynthesis.com is going to be something different now.

I'm glad to post
some info for you and any other interested.

-membership to dashsynthesis.com is now closed
no more member will be added, we are 8 synth designers.

here is a preview of our manifesto we are writing this days:

DashSynthesis Manifesto

- What we are.

Dashsynthesis is a web-based consortium of synth & sound
designers
founded in 2001 by Guilherme Kalfelz (aka WilliamK) from Brazil.
Each designer is a tested author with many years of experience.

- What we do.

We design and produce ensembles - synthesizers, effects,
workstations - for Native Instruments Reaktor, SynC Modular and
SoundQuest Infinity.
Ensembles can also be used as VST or DirectX
instruments.
We also write presets (patches) for these machines.
Ensembles can be clones - emulations of existing machines -
or original designs from the authors.
We provide support and documentation for each product.
We are open to requests from the users.
We sell our products on our website.

- How we do that.

Each product must be approved by the consortium and is tested by
all members before being released to the public to ensure a high
quality standard.
Sales are processed by an online secure service. The customer
can download the purchased products directly from our website on
his computer.

- Why we do that.

We love to make "musical instruments".
To financially support our passion we sell our products, enabling us
to continuously improve our existing products and design new
synthesizers, effects and workstations.

Signed by all DashSynthesis members.

William, Liqih, I am pleased that you answered your posts in such a manner. Contrary to what the original post may convey I do feel that your synths are very good. Your synths sound good from the demos and I will consider buying your supreme pack sometime in the near future.

You have answered my concerns. That you are not trying to be an alternate resource for a quick buck, and have a closed membership thus maintaining a quality and value added standard between your memebers.

The thing is the ensembles are not unreasonabley priced. I bought analogvectron and for all the time involved(and with tons of presets)its surely worth 20-30 bucks for a good ensemble.

My biggest complaint with NI is that since changing to those stupid web boards instead of the actual mailing list... traffic has greatly decreased. The creators list is PATHETIC compared to what it use to be. When was the last time there was an actual discussion on any of the lists? When everyone was complaining about the dongle for r3?

Hi,

i have problems to download and hear the audio-file examples. I only get the message: "The page you are looking for is not on this site anymore, please, head to
 www.dashsynthesis.com
and look if the information you want is someplace else". Does anybody else have this problem? I'm using the Mac IE5.0.

Bye,
Steffen

What?! Where did you click to get this message?
I just tested every single page (using scripts) and didn't find a single error. Please, let me know where you got this error so I can fix it.

Hi William,

i have this problem with Percussionism and many other Synths. And i think i see the problem now, the Percussionism Link as an Example is ".../Percussionism\Percs6.mp3" instead of "../Percussionism/Percs6.mp3". When i change this manually i can download the mp3 (but the connection is really bad), but get still the error message.

Bye,
Steffen
